Hi has anyone used this offering and how is cell c LTE network ?
am considering it because I pay R555 a month for 60 GB from Telkom and get consistant speeds of 20Mbps to 35 Mbps.

I am considering this offer because it is R530 for 100GB of data

If you are looking to order anything from Axxess and you just so happen to be on their database from like years ago and your email address has changed, be warned that trying to set up a new account with them is going to put your teeth on edge.

I thought I would give the Cell C LTE product they are punting a try, since they are advertising the first month as free on their website. I tried to place the order on their website after spending two days trying to retrieve my login details from their system (apparently I was a customer of theirs some time ago). I got as far as the RICA document uploads only to see that when you try to upload .jpg files to their system you just can't. They are all greyed out on the upload dialog, despite the same dialog telling you that .jpg is an acceptable format.

Tried contacting them via social media about the issue and felt as if I'd woken up Rip Van Winkle. Rip said I should place a manual order via their call centre. I told Rip thanks very much but I don't do call centres.

A week went by and I thought maybe they would have fixed the issue with RICA doc uploads on their system. So I tried again. Same result. Then I got the idea of converting the document scans to .pdf files and what do you know, it worked! I managed to place the order on 7 May. Got an SMS confirming that my order had been processed and the courier would be in touch with me to advise a delivery date.

Cue 11 May and no call received, so I open a ticket with Axxess asking when I might receive this sim card. No response. At all.

Cue 14 May I get in touch with Rip Van Winkle on the social media team again and ask what is going on. Rip advises me that it takes 10 working days to process my order and they will only do this once the debit order goes off.

I protest that the first month of the service is free, so how can they process a debit order? Rip is adamant. DO has to be cleared before they will deliver the sim card. He also says that I can cancel the order if not satisfied.

That's what I did.

Honestly, I don't know how a so-called "service provider" can be so clueless about how to deliver customer service? I mean, how hard can it be to arrange delivery of a sim card? Does it really take 10 days? A bleedin' carrier pigeon could do it faster. And what's the deal about offering a free month and then telling us that the free month will only kick in once the first month's debit order has been processed?

Maybe I need to just go lie down for a little while?

Hi I have a 10GB per month data sim from Cell C

I have used it for over a year.

For over 24 hours I have had no internet

The Router has full signal and says Connected. to Vodacom (Roaming)
But the Received data is 0B and sent is 8.24 KB (after 9 minutes since reboot)

Several reboots and even resetting to factory defaults did not fix it.

I can connect and use internet if I force the 2G only setting... but set it to 3G or auto and there is no incoming data.

Eventually the technician on the line gave up.

How can I escalate the issue? Cell C just throw their arms in air and say its Vodacom...

Cell C Fixed LTE issue with router and iOS devices

Hi All,

I have a very strange problem on my Cell C fixed LTE service from MWEB. My MAC and linux machines connected via WiFi to the B315 works fine. Android phone via WiFi works fine. Apple phones give constant issues. I can ping 8.8.8.8 from the phone (using Inettools) and do DNS lookups and it resolves addresses correctly. I have tried to set DNS manually on the phone, same result if DNS is set to 8.8.8.8, 9.9.9.9, 1.1.1.1 or auto assigned. This same router works perfectly fine with a RAIN sim and the exact same devices. I put the Cell C sim in a B618 router and experience the same issues. The same issue is experienced on another Fixed LTE from MWEB and I have the same issue on a Cell C prepaid SIM as well.

Has anyone else come across this? Any suggestions will be appreciated. :confused:

Hello,

I have enough airtime to buy this, but can you buy this with airtime? The R599 for 10GB data that lasts for a year.
If I go to the USSD menu I don't see it there, and the Cell C app/website has got a 10GB/R599 offer there but it doesn't say if it's this one or something else - it appears under both the once off and monthly dropdowns.

Any advise?

Anyone Else Having Trouble Getting Cell C 3G Network

Hey guys,

I am having trouble accessing Cell C 3G Network. I am currently in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth. Is it just me having an issue finding Cell C network?

Setting my modem on automatic network mode gives me Vodacom 2G. When doing a manual search, I only get Vodacom, MTN and Telkom Mobile 3G networks... No Cell C to be seen. I can't register for Vodacom 3G.

I tried both my 3G modems (Huawei Wingle E8235 and ZTE MF-920V) and could not get Cell C 3G network. Is it just me experiencing this or are there other cases??

Cellc sim swap

Cellc really sucks, I lost my phone a month ago with my sim now I want to make a sim swap on the number they telling me I cant cause the number does not belong to me yet I have been using this number from 2008 and I had ported it from MTN to cellc thinking its the best service, yet now they failing to make my sim swap on a number I had for years.... this really sucks!!!!!!

When I bought my sim card many moons ago, the salesman said there was no need to RICA it. Now I realize, the SIM was already Rica'd. Problem is, that's my main contact number.
So how do I get the ownership changed into my name?

Possible scam (or sheer incompetence) at Cell C shop

I'm already discussing with Cell C so no need for the reps to get involved.

My mother arrived a few days ago at Or Tambo and recharged her sim card at the Cell C shop of the airport.

She was alone with one Cell C agent in the shop (no other customer) and requested R300 of airtime.

She paid R300 by credit card, requested an invoice, the agent took a while to do this and left.

Today, while fiddling with her phone, I see that only R209 were recharged yesterday (knowing that she had R91 of balance left) making a total of R300, but that she paid R300 for these R209...

I check, and the number recharged on the invoice does not match her number but the amount, time and day are correct so the agent recharged R300 to an unknown number while nobody else was in the shop, made my mother pay for it and recharged R209 to my mother.

Looks completely like a scam where the agent pays the R209 out of his pocket and pockets R300, so double check when you recharge!

Does anyone know why Cell C is refusing to finish my 2 year contract that ended at the end of April this year?

I purchased a R99pm / 5 gig data contract in May 2016, that's what I can find from my records, I'm pretty sure I signed up in April and then May was pro-rata as I was billed R109.75 on the 1st May... I went into their Cell C shop in January this year to remind them that my contract is coming to an end and it must stop, no problem they said, we called into their support desk and sorted it out.

And now today 1st May 2018 which is month 25 and a bit and you guessed it, I was billed R200.14 today?

WTF are you doing Cell C?

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Hi,

so i dont know if anyone else has ever noticed a problem with their cell c network.

i dont know if im posting in the wrong place.

but ive been trying to get Webafrica to help me with my issue and they always come up with another form or something that i need to fill in before they would actually want to help me. or send my query to IS, which i know IS will go and say low priority and just put my query aside

i have a issue where im getting routed to different areas every time my router is restarted.

ive been living in Capetown, bloemfontein, durban, and somewhere north or south of pretoria. #RoutingProblems .

i know most people wont know what im talking about, but specially the Techs in Webafrica

i can reboot my router and it will jut jump to the next tower as if i was living there.

my download speed is awfully slow for LTE as well, between 2 and 6mbps

i just want to know if there is anyone else that have this experience

ive bought a external antenna as well and ive mounted the thing up high. in my back yard, and no difference or any improvements its as if there is a slight deadspot in my area.

my friend with his cell c phone doesnt get a good reception as well.

so im out of luck and i dont know how to get this better or working,
if i use my friends Telkom LTE i get between 30 and 50mpbs download and upload between 10 - 20 mpbs
any suggestions?

How can I cancel this contract.
I had it for 6 months and the service worked "ok/bearable" until last month.
I stream all my services and from a month ago a struggle to Surf. Last night I had and Upload of 0.83kbs previous readings were 3Mb,2Mb, and 7Mb. When comparing that to IS/RAIN service in same device, I got 20Mb, 23Mb, 25Mb, 27Mb during the same time period. I would also appear my data Usage has increased. I am sure this is because of the "retries and Rebuffering".
CellC please can you cancel this service so that I can move to another provider that is willing to give me the service I pay for.

Samsung s9 - call goes dead for a few seconds

Hi All

We have just upgraded to the sumsung s9 and when my wife makes or receives calls after 30s into the call the phone goes dead for a few seconds but does not drop the call. It happens both on inbound and outbound calls and at different intervals always within the first 2mins and then again a few minutes later. This happens to both parties on the call.

Is this software related, as it is an LTE device or a faulty phone? any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys,
Is anyone else having issues with Wi-Fi calling today?

It takes forever to get the Wi-Fi calling symbol and once I go out if Wi-Fi range and back it troubles to come on again.

CellC coverage map incorrect - badly so

Investigated coverage map, this shows I am right in the middle of the LTE coverage area
This was confirmed at the shop
Was sold LTE 9 months ago
Download is abysmal - sometimes less than 2mbps, some days no service at all
Complained to CellC at least 20 times. It is always my faulty equipment
Was told to get an antenna - spent R2500 on this with a tiny improvement
Logged a call to CellC's networking dept in March
They arrive at my house on 1st June and straight away advise that 1) I am on the extreme edge of the coverage area, 2) the map is completely wrong and they are aware of it, and 3) they are "revising" the map

But the map today shows the same incorrect coverage area as it did in September 2017

Complain to Data help line - there is nothing we can do (20 calls so far)
Complain to the shop who sold the equipment - it has nothing to do with us
Write emails to CellC - no response

CellC are quite happy to charge R500 a month for service they know cannot ever work

When I told the shop lady that this was fraud, she said "So sue us"

Hi Cell C,

Lets see if you can clean up this mess for me.

My initial references for the matter at hand are: 8050902141, 8050902151, 8050902153

I had 4 data contracts. When I was called to do an upgrade effective from the end of the former contract on 5th April, I was led to believe that i'm getting the same service(smartdata I believe) with a slight difference to the data and price(i.e. 15 Gigs for R150 per month). To my surprise, I was issued with an LTE-A package that is useless to me since I found out later that it's unusable here(rep should have obviously informed me of the package type AND checked first).

I informed within 4 days(09/05) by submitting tickets (see refs above). After that it was just dealt with badly for the most part. "Dimakatso", attempted to remedy things(15/05). We agreed on 2 numbers being terminated and 2 numbers remaining active with a 10+10 Gig data contract at R199 (200?).When I saw funds being deducted from my account related to the wrong service, I got fed up and subsequently sent in another ticket(+-20-21/05) requesting to terminate the 2 newer upgrades done by Dimakatso. Natalie from cancellations spoke me (21/05) and she said she would submit it (Reference: 180 521 0000319 38).

After all these goings on, and my reversal of the debit orders due to the incorrect charges(which was subsequently re-debited from my bank account by juggling the amounts), no terminations of the wrong contracts were done. I submitted another ticket, and Dimakatso called me back to attempt at sorting the account out. Sadly, she informed me that the accounts were put back to the old contract status with non contract charges etc...! This, friends, is robbery!

1stly. Had I known I was to get the wrong contracts, I would've submitted my cancellations for all by the end of the 23rd month of my former contract. Not my fault they messed up so it's ridiculous to expect me to pay a cancellation notice amount for that.

2ndly. My current understanding of the legal rules for sending in a termination notice within the 5 work day "cooling off period" is that, you(cell C) are entitled to charge "prorata" for airtime/data etc usage only. Therefore anything else I may have agreed on previously which may include a cancellation notice period, may not necessarily be binding on me when read in conjunction with the CPA acts of law.

3rdly. The poor communication from almost all consultants is pathetic. There are no follow up emails, calls, sms'es to inform me about what has been decided, so I am blindly "feeling my way in the dark" about the status of my account at any given time.

I do not have a reference to provide for the call received for the initial upgrade offer.

My objectives? All my funds wrongfully debited be returned to me. All contracts be terminated. And debit order instructions be terminated.

I await your response and look forward to the correct remedy being applied.

Ordered the sim only 200GB Cell C fixed wireless option from @axxessDSL on the 1st. Ordering process on the website gave the impression that I would receive my full 200 GB for the 1st month. Turns out allocated data is calculated from the day of delivery and not the day you placed the order. It took them twelve days to deliver the sim card to Cape Town so I lost out on about 87 GB worth of data.
