Roaming and data use???

:confused:Hi I am on Cell C Prepaid because where I live I can only get Cell C Roaming via Vodacom.
I have just bought a years worth of Prepaid data only to find my phone is using up all my airtime and very little data, I read somewhere that this relates to the Roaming use, which is odd since it has used some of my Data. Is there anyway of changing this bearing in mind I have to use Roaming??

I wish to port from Cell C (GloCell being the service provider)
I have sent numerous emails to GloCell (customersupport@glocell.co.za) but they are never acknowledged / answered. :mad:
Their call center never answers:mad:

Does anyone know the contract details of someone that can assist me?

So I need to give a big shout out to the @Cell_C reps.

After having unexplained debit orders on cancelled contracts on both Cell C and Telkom I sent both companies a PM on Thursday.

My man ,MP, from Cell C contacted me that same morning and it turned out to be a classic case of PEBKAC. My PM to Telkom, however, probably went into a bin that recycles said messages.

While I know that there are other, more formal, avenues where one can air complaints responding to any customer query is a no-brainer. Where I work, you could face disciplinary action for work avoidance.

I digress. @Telkom, block your incoming PMs.

Fixed LTE - What's the speeds like, and does it work well for gaming?

Hi all,

I've been thinking of signing up with Axxess for their 200GB LTE deal.
Just wanted to find out from current users who make use of Cell C LTE - what are the speeds like (upload and download) and how is the latency to Europe servers for online gaming?

Is it comparable to Telkom? Better or worse?

Don't want to be tied down on a contract if this is not going to work too well for my gaming needs.

Unfortunately Fibre is taking forever to get to my area, and ADSL is limited to only 4mbps so looking into LTE.
I currently have Telkom LTE and it's ok, but everybody at home makes use of it and hence doesn't work too well for gaming when a number of users are connected to it. So I would like to get the Cell C LTE via Axxess and use this just for gaming / streaming only for my use and not the rest of the familia.

New Cell C Titan android 7.0 device roaming Disables itself

Hi I purchased a new Cell C Titan android 7.0 handset and it refuses to roam ,I contacted the technical service department and was given APN settings to put in,after installing them I still have no data only 2G Cell C as there is no 3G Cell C in Ngodwana .What happens is the Handset roams on Vodacom and you can make calls but the moment you switch on 'Data Roaming" on the device it automatically turns the switch off again the moment you leave the screen , as soon as you select Vodacom the Data connection seems to come on for a second as you see the arrows next to the signal bars flash but then it turns off .

After doing the set up with the lady from Technical support I was told the device was faulty as the switch for data roaming turns off and that I should return the device for another handset so I have done this and now I have the same problem on the new handset there is no roaming it just turns Data roaming off by itself after it connects to Vodacom.

The device is the second new one I have received ,I watched it being taken from a sealed box and it still has the problem I really don't think two devices can be faulty

I have used the same new Sim card in one of my other Devices and it roams immediately with the same settings I was given by technical support

any Ideas ?

I have recently upgraded to a new IPhone and everytime I load data, it doesnt work. When phoning Cell C for the last three weeks, they say that they are having problems with data bundles and IPhones and are in communications with Apple but will not reimburse my money. How do I deal with this.

Unable to Unsubscribe to Black emails

I tried to sign up to Black trial a few months ago. However, payment wasn't processed because a Capitec debit card doesn't do recurring payments, so I cancelled. However, I am still receiving promo mails every now and then from Cell C regarding Black.

The kicker is, there is no Unsubscribe button on any of these mails. Not very professional.

Since I can't pay for it, can you unsubscribe me somehow?

Whatsapp not working on Cell C mobile data

A friend of mine has a Cell C contract on an iPhone 6 and for the last month or so she has been unable to use Whatsapp off wifi.

Daily calls to Cell C and visits to the store have not helped, in fact she was told that it is a problem with the iPhone and that she should "buy out the rest of her contract and go to another network". I mean seriously, if Cell C cannot provide service and they are giving up so easily then the contract release should be free of charge.

All the settings on the phone seem to be correct.

Hi all. So we received the modem and simcard on the 19th. And we are still getting red light on modem. Webafrica is just blaming it on the outage. We paid for pro rata and got invoiced for next month but we cannot use the internet? Have had numerous calls with webafrica but getting no luck. Any assistance will be appreciated. See attached picture

Been on Cell C LTE for about a month and it's OK. Not as fast as Rain where I am, but good enough to do what I need to do, which is stream entertainment and surf the internet.

But there's a problem: 200GB is not going to be enough data and if I'm going to have to top up I don't want to buy 1GB at a time for R12.50. I'm paying R849 for 200GB, which works out to R4.25 per GB, so why would I suddenly want to pay 3x that amount for each additional GB when I'm already spending so much with you? How does loyalty get rewarded by increasing the cost per unit for your best customers? I may as well just order another sim on a different package and get a cheaper per GB amount.

Or you can sell me 300GB for R1200.

Or charge me R4 per top up GB I use over 200.

Will Cell C LTE-A sim card work in a 3G only area?

Does anyone know if a Cell C LTE-A fixed wireless sim card from Axxess or Afrihost will work in a 3G-only area? I want to get one of these packages but intend to use between between 2 different sites, one in an LTE-A area and one in a 3G-only area. I know the standard Cell C prepaid LTE sim cards will fall back to 3G if no LTE is available, but does the same apply to these special fixed wireless sim cards?

Hello,

Don't know how to start this, but I'm going to dive straight into my issue. I currently have a data contract with Cell C( 40gb for R302, it was R299 but due to VAT increase) where I have a LTE sim and they gave me a ZTE router and it's a 24 month contract, where I still have 13 months remaining ( took it out last September), I want to migrate to a new plan with Cell C they currently have 100gb for R469 LTE-A data. My question is do I have to pay a contract cancellation fee for the old contract?

I have a pinnacle 600 cellc contract and keep running out of data.

On the CellC app I noticed you can buy a 10gb data bundle valid for 365 days for R599.

It however seems to only be available for prepaid...

Does anyone know if there is a way to load this on a contract?
