Cell-C / IS fixed LTE - stuck data usage problem

Hi,

Need some input from the community please.
We are experiencing a new problem on the Cell C / IS fixed LTE that seems random.

The total data usage counter seems in a "stuck" state and is not reflecting the overall data used correctly.
If one drills down into your daily usage then each day is reflecting correctly but not the total overall.

The problem is the SIM cards once they hit their cap shows on the overall usage that you still have lots of data available when you don't.
The second problem is even if you top up you still constantly receive a Cell C splash screen "Out of Funds".

So now you are stuck with no way of using your internet further.

We have reported one SIM card so far to IS today, however looking at the usage panels of other clients we are noticing the "stuck" overall usage problem happening as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?, feedback from other users would be much appreciated.

fastest sim card modem

I'm currently using a Huawei E5573 wifi modem that you put a sim card into and load data onto it. On speedtest I get a download speed of 16.5 Mbps and an upload speed of 5.5 Mbps.

Anyone know what the fastest sim card modem one can get is? Any recommendations and what speeds one can hope to get on Cell C's network, I live in Fourways Johannesburg :D

After months of trying to get my month-to-month with you cancelled,multiple calls,promises of disputes being logged and callbacks to be made. Nothing has materialized. Now i'll just be blocking and reversing every charge you dare try to make. Which department to contact re software updates?

Good day

Anyone know who to contact in Cell C to ask for an eta for software updates?

The A5 2017 has been updated last November for Cell C while MTN (XFE) for example has been updated with the January, February and March patch.

Haven't been able to communicate on the phone with the social media team (when I answer the cell I hear a ticking sound- doesn't seem to be an issue with my phone as I tested receiving a call under same conditions) and they seem unwilling to answer on PM (just if there is an update pending).

The older security patch doesn't seem to be working well that's why hoping a newer one will fix my issue and if I flash a non XFA firmware (not cell c) I'll lose Wi-Fi calling.

Cell C airtime depletion while active data bundle

I am on Cell C prepaid, on an Android phone.
I have an active 50GB data bundle, with plenty of data available.
My airtime gets depleted very rapidly.
I made sure there are no premium services running on my phone.
Upon query to Cell C call centre, they tell me that some apps are using data through oob airtime rather than through the 50GB data bundle. They cannot tell me which apps it is, or how to stop it.
Please help!!!

Good Morning All

I have Cell C LTE coverage in the Wierda Park Area, however the speeds are terrible, only getting between 2 - 4mb on this.
signal bar is running stable a 3 bars.

Are you guys having the same issues. Thought the speed will be must better.

I'm hoping I'm not posting on the incorrect forum. I've tried writing to Cell-c via their website but it says it doesn't recognize my number that IS a Cell-c number.
I purchased the Cell-c Titan cellphone (spreadtrum) that ends up being a cheap Chinese phone.
When I saw that it had Android 7 Nougat I thought it would be a decent phone.
The main issue I have is that the GPS doesn't work. I even went in to a local Cell-c outlet to enquire about it and they said they can't help me because I bought it at Edgars. It's branded CELL C!! If anyone can assist me in anyway it would be greatly appreciated.

Cell C wifi calling

For those that are using Cell C wifi calling, how are you finding it? Does it work without issue on prepaid?

When I was on Cell C a few years ago I had endless issues with data connections and calls being dropped, in the Durban area? Has all those issues been resolved?

I'm moving to another country for a few months and need wifi calling to be reachable by my SA number. Vodacom's wifi calling doesn't work so there is only really one horse in this race. Just need to see if that horse is going for the win or the glue factory.

does anybody know what 4G LTE-A Band Cell-C are on, is it the TDD 2300mhz or TDD 2600mhz

reason being the Huawei B618 router comes in 2 models, 22d and 65d... each one is on a different band, just don't want to buy the wrong one...

Epic Fail on Web Africa...

So, I had place an order for the Cell C fixed LTE through Web Africa on Saturday 7 April 2018, it was impressive that they approve and confirmed the order by Sunday, and called me on the Monday 9 April 2018 that my delivery is scheduled on Wednesday 11 April 2018. I was quite happy that I finally don't need to work on office this weekend because now I am getting my internet, but guess what, I am at office now...

So I really need to clap for Ram Courier, received message from them on Thursday morning that they failed to delivery the router and SIM card because they couldn't reached me, which I had received no call from them on Wednesday.

Funny thing is I caught the RAM Courier guy in front of my office during the lunch time on Thursday, the guy saying that he didn't delivery because of confusion of the address.:confused::confused: Yes, you are reading right, the guy literary said that front of my office building, like I am a retard. What even worse is, he didn't bring my parcel with him on Thursday.

So, story keep going on, received another message this morning saying that my delivery will be done before 5 today. So I have been calling the customer service since 12 o'clock and all they were saying was that delivery will be done before 5, they have no idea where the delivery guy is but I will definitely be getting the parcel.

Now I am sitting at office and typing this...Because I don't have my flipping router. So really well done, I am considering to cancel my order and rather just get in from the Cell C store.

For those are receiving parcel from RAM courier...Good luck for that.

How is Cell C these days?

There is a network issues pinned thread, but isn't that active anymore.

A few years ago I was on Cell C, both prepaid and contract and it was horrible. Full signal but no data or phone calls would work (circa 2013/2014)

However as I am spending more time in foreign countries I need wifi calling for my SA number. At the moment MTN doesn't offer it, and Vodacom wifi calling doesn't work on IOS outside of SA.

So Cell C is my only option at the moment, but I don't want to port and find out the number is just as useless as it was a few years ago.

This morning I realised my phone had no network on my fnb sim,I took it out and in again,reboot but still nothing all I get is “No Sim”,calling FNB is mission since I was on hold for 17min...Is anyone having the same problem?Good thing I didn’t port

Cell C cancellation-counter offer nightmare

So my 24 month data contract ended last month, so I phoned yesterday to put my 30 day notice.
I was give an 'offer' to continue with my package at a discount on month to month contract.

I agreed to this offer, only for the 'agreement' document sent to me to show the premium/price to be different from the offer and clearly stated 24 months contract.


I called the call center to explain the differences and didn't get a satisfactory answer so I decided to terminate the contract, then the consultant told me this:

  1. I cannot cancel this contract immediately or give a 30 day notice because the contract should at least be a month old
  2. I will be reverted back to my old contract and serve a 30 day cancellation period, which will mean I will pay 2 cancellation penalties


Is this right or even legal?

How Do I Contact Management Of Cell C or Escalate An Issue

Hi Everyone

If anyone can help or give me information it will be highly appreciated. Because I am out of options.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus on a business contract and the phone was issued April 2017 to me. About a month ago the earpiece started distorting and hearing someone on a phone call was almost impossible. The warranty on the phone ran out on the 27th of April 2018. I went to Cell C here in Secunda where I live to book in the phone(still under warranty) on the 23rd of April 2018. I assumed it was sent to Cell C for repair, but yesterday I received an sms that the phone has been checked and assessed at the Cell C repair centre and a quote was issued. The phone was still sent in for repair under warranty so I quote seemed out of the ordinary to me.

I phoned Cell C repair and they advised that they only received the phone last week and that it is out of warranty. And Cell C repairs said the phone will be replaced with a new one. But because it is out of warranty I need to pay R14000 for the replacement. I explained to the lady at the repair centre that the phone was handed in under warranty and the warranty must be honoured. She phoned the Cell C store here in Secunda and spoke to the manager. After my call the manager of Cell C in Secunda phoned me. And asked for proof that the phone was handed in on the 23rd. They wanted my Boss's ID book because the contract is on his name. And while I was there he sent it to them so they have proof that it was handed in(they are more than welcome to check their cameras for proof also.)

The manager at Cell C Secunda admitted that they made a mistake but said if they have to admit it. Someone will get fired because they will have to replace the phone on their cost. Here is where it gets interesting. The manager wants to get the phone back from the repair centre and have "someone he knows" repair the earpiece speaker. And I explained to him that Cell C repair centre said the phone must be replaced. It's been 2 days phoning the manager at the Cell C store in Secunda and he has all kinds of stories and excuses and "HE'S MAKING A PLAN". But he is getting rude now and unprofessional because they don't want to replace the phone and he wants one of his buddies to fix it. Cell C said the phone must be replaced. I'm tired of all his excuses and lies.

Is there someone here that knows who I can contact to escalate this issue. I am beyond frustrated and angry. Cell C repair said I must speak to the manager of the store and he is doing nothing. All I get from him is lies and stories. And I am sitting without a phone to use. Please someone if you know how I can get this to Cell C management to sort out. I would highly appreciate it.
