Hi
Maybe its just me but recently (July month) there has been mass instability in the network. I went to PE for a weekend earlier this month and I couldn't for the life of me use my phone because I couldn't get an Internet connection nor could I make or receive phone calls. I needed to travel around using my phone's GPS but no, I couldn't get connected. I ended up using my dad's old school Nokia on MTN for calls and borrowing my mum's S5 Mini MTN for GPS.
I have literally never had dropped calls on Cell C until this month. I am at the point of thinking that my phone is physically damaged because I can't make phone calls nor receive... I am not even talking about data use. My 4G S6 is reduced to H+ that works for 2 minutes then goes to H and just stares at me blankly. When it shows 4G, you have a better chance of anything happening with GPRS signal. Whatsapp messages don't go through at all and it's so bad that you wish you could have the dreaded two blue ticks (friend zone anyone?)
I went into Cell C at Kolonnade, in Pretoria, where I live, and the guy told me there were recent network upgrades and some phones were adversely affected, one of which was mine but just a simple phone restart will fix. We restarted, he typed some things on the PC, did some things on the phone and gave me a missed call to test and all was in order. I walked out and within 10 seconds of leaving -- no improvement. I walked back in but then I had to join the queue... so I was like, nevermind.
All I want is for Cell C to reverse upgrades because my phone is now useless.
Ciao like goodbye. You know like ciao, arrivederci, Sbarro, Papa Johns.
