For the last 2 years Ive had the Giga 200 package (50GB anytime + 150GB midnight data - 365 days) for R999.00
When I went to renew it a few days ago at the Cresta branch I was told that it was no longer available, but that there was only a 50GB anytime (R1 099.00) or a 200GB anytime (R1 999.00) a shock that it has doubled in price!
Sadly I returned today to purchase the 200GB package and gave the teller (Faleka Jacobs) last years invoice so that I would be sure of the correct service number. She pointed out that that package was no longer available, I said I understood but that wanted the new one.
Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding she assumed 50GB whereas I wanted the 200GB package (which is what I had in total before). As I left the store I noticed on my credit card receipt that I had only been charged for the 50GB, but on returning to Ms Jacobs she said there was nothing she could do.
The manager came over and agreed that they cannot change a data package, whether by refunding the 50GB in full and issuing a new 200GB package or upgrading by my paying the R900 difference.
I have not started using the package (I had only had it for a few minutes when I returned) and the problem is clearly due to a misunderstanding. I dont understand why Cell C would rather lose a customer than earn more by allowing an upgrade.
